We reviewed a $7m scope – here’s how we unlocked $1m of additional value…

Although a large part of our work involves helping brands negotiate agency fees and ultimately delivering cost savings, we very much believe that the most effective agency partnerships don’t necessarily spend less, they spend better.

We recently reviewed a $7m scope using our end-to-end agency platform – Optima. Our analysis was able to deliver $1m in additional value that could be strategically reinvested elsewhere.

Here’s how we did it:

1. Deliverables consolidated and clarified
Deliverables were duplicated across teams. By consolidating deliverables and defining clear ownership of outputs, the team redirected investment into creative development.

2. Strategy time rebalanced
Strategy development was spread across multiple workstreams. By consolidating strategic input into focused touchpoints, the team redirected investment into deeper insight and planning.

3. Project management simplified
Several coordination roles had overlapping responsibilities. Streamlining workflows reduced administrative overhead significantly.

4. Refocusing seniority resource
Senior talent was applied across day-to-day delivery. By refocusing senior roles on key decision points, the team redirected investment into increased delivery capacity.

5. Streamlining governance and ways of working
Significant time was allocated to meetings and coordination. By streamlining governance and reducing non-deliverable time, the brand was able to reinvest this cost elsewhere.

6. Realigning investment against industry benchmarks
Certain roles were above current market benchmarks. By recalibrating the scope against our industry data, the costs could be redirected invested into higher-impact activities.

In total, we identified a total of $1m to be reinvested into higher-impact activities.
